In unit 5 of chemistry we will explore how masses and volumes of compounds are measured using the mole. We will practice mole conversions and then combine the concepts of formula writing with the mole through the use of both empirical and molecular formulas. Students will learn how unknown substances (like those found in drug busts or in urine samples) are identified chemically both mathematically and in the laboratory.
