Unit 2

In this unit, we will explore the history of the atom and nuclear decay.  We will begin the unit by studying the parts of the atom and the scientists that discovered them.  Next, we will explore the look at the history of the periodic table, its design, and its relationship to the parts of the atom.  Then we will explore the process of radiation and how atoms can change into new atoms.  This will be done by looking at the 1/2 life of atoms, along with the processes of fission vs. fusion.
