Number of Books and Materials Kindergarten students can choose a cubbie book, an everybody fiction book, and an everybody non-fiction book. We begin by checking out one book at a time, and building up to three books.
First grade students can checkout three library items.
Students in second grade may check out 4 items including magazines. Third through fifth grade will eventually be able to check out up to six library items of their choice.
Due Dates Books are officially due a week after checkout and have a grace period of an extra week; however, books may be renewed until the student has finished reading the book.
Fines Fines are not charged for overdue books, however replacement costs will be charged for lost or damaged items. A bill will be sent home with the student.
Overdue Notices Overdue notices may be sent to parents via e-mail if a parent has submitted an e-mail address to the school district. Students also receive a paper copy of overdue notices on a monthly basis. These overdue notices are computer generated and are sometimes sent out inadvertently. If you receive one of these notices and it doesn't seem quite right, please send a note or contact Mr. Athas at 715.852.4709 or aathas@ecasd.us.
