Digital Citizenship

Digital Citizenship

In the Eau Claire Area School District, Digital Citizenship means using technology safely, responsibly, creatively, and effectively.

It's more than a one-time lesson; it's a mindset for staff and students to enrich learning and participation in the digital community while protecting personal and property rights.

Student safety is paramount. Our curriculum covers:

  • Safe online behavior
  • Awareness of one's digital footprint
  • Cyberbullying and how to address it
  • Responsible use of intellectual property
  • Effective online collaboration

Students are also taught to apply core community values—compassion, courage, honesty, respect, responsibility, work ethic, and justice—to their online behavior, contributing to the well-being of global online communities.

For more information, parents and community members can contact their school Media and Technology Integration Specialist or the Media and Technology Integration Manager.
