The vision of the Eau Claire Area School District is to prepare all children for post-secondary success.  The ACT is the preferred acceptance test in the midwest. All juniors will be given the ACT test during the school day in the spring. This assessment will be free of charge to these students. No registration is required for this session.  Registration procedures will be completed by the school.  There are additional ACT test dates available to students (a student can take the test multiple times) but only the one given during the school day will be free of charge.  See the ACT website for more information.

Advanced Placement Courses
Advanced Placement (AP) courses are college-level classes in a wide variety of subjects that you can take while still in high school.  They offer you challenging course work and a taste of what college classes are like.

If you have AP related questions please contact Sam Hochstetler, email.

Pre-ACT Test for Freshmen and Sophomores
The Pre-ACT test is a test given to all freshmen as a means of preparing for the ACT.   It shows you your relative strengths and weaknesses in four subject areas and gives you suggestions on how to improve your scores.

ASVAB
The goal of the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is to give junior and senior students the opportunity to explore a variety of careers using knowledge they have gained about their interests and skills through assessment components and structured activities.

PSAT for Juniors
The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) is an optional test offered to juniors.  This test provides information about a student's academic potential for doing college-level work.  It is also the route of entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program, providing students the opportunity to compete with other juniors for scholarships.

SAT
The SAT is a globally recognized college admission test that lets you show colleges what you know and how well you can apply that knowledge.
