Dear Longfellow Families,

While we are away from school, it is important for all of us to stay active and healthy.  Here are some activity ideas that can be done at home.  These suggestions are a few ways that families can encourage children to be active.  You can modify equipment or activities and use what you may have at home.  For example, balls can be replaced with rolled up newspaper or a pair of socks,  lines can be made using cracks in the driveway or side walk. Children are great at using their imagination to create or modify games and activities  There are many different sites that you can visit that will give you other ideas to keep children physically active for a minimum or 30 min to a couple of hours per day.  Simply going for walks or playing tag is a great way to satisfy a child’s need for frequent physical activity. These are not assignments and no credit can be given for completing any activities.

Stay well, we’ll see you soon!
