Curriculum Resources for ECVS

For Kindergarten through 3rd grade, ECVS uses the same curriculum resources as the Eau Claire Area School District (ECASD). For students in 4th grade through 7th grade, Pearson Connexus is the primary curriculum resource, with teachers supplementing with resources from ECASD. High school students access Pearson Connexus resources. All resources are aligned to Wisconsin academic standards to provide an engaging and rigourous learning opportunity for students. 
  
Literacy Footprints is a reading program used to increase student literacy comprehension and writing skills through engaging texts. It is also used as a guided reading system that teachers and students access online to meet individual student needs.  (used K-7)

Handwriting Without Tears is a writing program created with children's developmental skills in mind. Students engage in visually stimulating and multisensory activities to increase fine motor skills and develop printing skills.  (used K-3)

Math Expressions is a researched based program where students actively make sense of numbers by exploring, discussing, and demonstrating their understanding of key mathematical concepts. Students use flexible thining and collaboration to build a deep understanding.  (Used K-5)

Studies Weekly is a student-friendly periodical format that is aligned to state standards for social studies.  It is a hands-on, consumable resource that is organized around relevant themes, such as geography and economics.  (Used K-3)

Mystery Science is an innovative resource that is used to connect students to the world around them through online video lessons. Students learn through hands-on experimentation, observing, sharing, and writing about what they learn.  (Used K-5)

Character Strong provides social & emotional learning experiences. Character traits are taught to students, as they actively work towards emulating them in their daily lives. (Used K-7)

SORA is an online library that allows students to access eBooks from the school library and public library. Students check out these books and read them independently.  (Used K-7)

DreamBox Learning Math is an interactive and self-paced program that provides engaging activities for students to learn and practice skills in mathematics. (Used K-5)

Wet-Dry-Try is a handwriting app supporting the Handwriting Without Tears printing program. Students practice letter formation through a multisensory approach on iPads. (Used K-3)

TumbleBooks are animated, talking picture books that students listen to and follow along with. These engaging stories help learners develop a love of reading.  (Used K-3)

Capstone is an online library that allows students to select books on a variety of diverse topics that spark curiosity.  Students can read the texts independently or follow along while the text is read aloud.  (Used K-3)

Newsela is an online resource for reading, social studies, science, and social emotional learning. Students view articles written by students and professionals to enhance their learning experience.  (Used 6-7)

Nearpod is a digital tool where teachers share learning resources that are interactive. Nearpod uses gamification to make learning engaging and fun.  (Used 6-7)

Flocabulary is a library of educational music videos that students use to learn about topics. These are entertaining, modern and skillfully crafted lessons that enhance student growth in all subjects. (used 6-7)

Seesaw is the online learning platform for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Teachers share assignments through links, demonstration videos, and much more. Students engage interactivity in a variety of ways, including sharing photos, drawings, and videos.

Microsoft Teams is used by students K-12 to attend live lessons. Students join scheduled meetings where they interact with classmates and the teacher to collaborate and develop communication skills.

Canvas is an online learning platform that allows teachers to create and present materials for students to access and engage in academics that increase skill development.  (Used 4-5)
