Hello and welcome to 7th grade English!  I'm Ms. Schlieve and I'd like to share a little bit about myself.

This will be my third year teaching at South. I've also taught High School English/History in Shell Lake, WI and both Middle and High School in Kenosha WI.  I graduated from Carthage College with degrees in English, History, and a minor in Secondary Education.  I am passionate about what I teach, as well as continuing to better myself as a teacher and learner.  Besides teaching, I also regularly coach diving for South and both boys and girls in High School, forensics at South, and work with South's after school study club.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading a variety of genres as well as writing.  I also love being active outdoors including running, biking, swimming, and playing volleyball or soccer with friends.  At home, I enjoy cooking and baking.

I live on a farm in Durand with my fiance, Tom.  Tom works on the farm and it has been in his family for generations.  I grew up in Eau Claire, so I'm getting used to the smell of cows and sounds of tractors and irrigators, but we both love the open space, quiet, and peace.

At the end of last school year, we added to our family with an Australian Shepherd mix named Riley.  She's a rescue, so the rest of her genealogy is a mystery, but she's unique looking and very loving.  Riley loves long walks, playing fetch, and anything she is offered.  She also likes learning new tricks (because she gets treats) and cuddling, usually when we're trying to get work done.

My family all lives in Eau Claire and I am very fortunate to be so close to them.  I have one older sister who is married with two children.  My niece, Kyelie, and nephew, Kallen, are cute and hilarious and I try to spend as much time with them as possible!

I'm very excited to start this new journey this year and to get to know all of you!
