Putnam Height Elementary:
  • Homework Club - Tuesday/Thursday 3:45-4:30pm from February 7 – May 11
Helping 2-4th graders with homework, studying math and spelling words, review for tests

  • Special Olympics:  Mondays and Thursdays from 3:45-5 pm with Mr. LaValley  tlavalley@ecasd.us
Special Olympics would love volunteers to help with bowling, basketball, and track with elementary students
  • Help organizing Putnam Family Closet – times and days flexible/hours flexible
Our Family Closet often gets donated clothes that need to be sorted into bins.  It would not be a commitment, but could come volunteer to help with any hours NHS members might need.

Longfellow: Tutoring and the Puddle Jump
Longfellow has a grant funded after-school program called CLC (Community Learning Center) and within our program we have something we call Buddy Mentor’s.  We pair volunteers with CLC students from grades 1-5 every other week on Mon., Tues., or Thur. from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm February 6th to May11th.  The first 30 minutes of the program are spent helping a Longfellow CLC student with homework and the second 30 minutes is spent getting to know their buddy.  Our program begins this week but we can add mentors as we go.  If you are looking for volunteer opportunities for NHS, we’d love to have some of your students.  The one thing we ask is that students commit to one day of the week that works best for them now through May 11th as our kids are VERY disappointed when their buddy doesn’t show up.
We also have our Jeanne Richie Memorial Puddle Jump on Saturday, April 22nd and we would LOVE to have NHS serve as marshals as they did last year!  Time is 8:15-10:45. Any student interested in either of these options can contact me for further information.  If you have further questions, please let me know.
Please contact Ms. Larson by email below and she will get you set up.
