NHS Blooddrive Wednesday, October 4th, 2017

All NHS students will work at least one 50 minute shift before school, after school, or during the school day.  All students are also required to sign up to bring food or drink items for the participants of the blood drive.  More information will be posted at a later date.

    1.  After school on Monday, September 18, 2017 I need students to make two large posters to hang in the Commons/English Wing for the upcoming Blood drive.  I also need students to hang up American Red Cross blood drive posters around the building.  This would take about 30 to 45 minutes.  I need about 5-10 students to do this. (1 hr. of community service will be given)

    2.  On Tuesday, September 26th, 2017, pairs of NHS students will be visiting the English classes to register students for the blood drive.  The NHS students will explain the criteria for those wishing to donate blood and give information about the blood drive itself.  (All information will be provided on a data sheet that you will take into the room with you.)  Then students will be asked to sign up for the blood drive.  You will pass around the sheets to sign up.  If you and a partner are willing to do this please state the hour(s) that you and your partner would be available.  (I need 18 pairs: 2 or 3 pairs of students per hr.)  Pairs will have a 10 min. information meeting with Mrs. Lange in room 2176 after school on Monday, September 25 at 3:00 pm or before school on Tuesday, September 26 at 7:15 am. (1 hr. of community service will be given)

    3.  After school on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017, I need students to help schedule the blood donors and fill out 180 donation appointment cards.  I would need 10 to 15 students to come to room 2176 after school to schedule, fill out this appointment cards, and stuff mailboxes. (Time commitment: 1 hour of community service)

    4.  On Wednesday, October 4, ALL NHS students will be asked to work 1-2 hours at the blood drivePlease check the shifts that you will be able to work. (Note Study halls with SH and Release with an R please.  I will try to schedule those first.)
    You will be assigned to a “job” and be given your job, duties, and hrs. scheduled at the next meeting.   (You will only be asked to work 1- 2 hrs. on this day.)  Please note if you cannot be a donor escort because you have issues being around blood.

    5.  On October 4th, all NHS students will be asked to donate food items to the blood drive.  Options to bring include the following:
    1 dozen donuts 2 bags of chips 2 two liter bottles of soda 2 dozen bars or cookies**
    1 dozen bagels 1 vegetable tray 1/2gallon of juice 1 dozen bananas or apple 
    1 dozen muffins 2 boxes of crackers 1 case of bottled water 1 pound of grapes
    1 pk. small plates 1 pk. of 8-ounce paper cups 2 pks.  flavored cream cheese  2 pks. of Granola bars
    ** Items we need a lot of students to bring.                                               
    Your donation will be: _______________________________________ and will be delivered before school to the gym on Oct. 4th.  PLEASE NOTE: Everyone needs to be flexible.  If I get too many of certain items, I will ask you to switch.  Last year 60 people had to switch!!
