Key Indicators
Reading and Mathematics provide information regarding student attainment on the Assessment Frameworks for Reading and Mathematics to students, parents, and teachers, and information to support curriculum and instructional planning. Key indicators are 3rd grade Reading, 8th grade Mathematics, and the 11th grade ACT.
Full Definition: Measures the percentage of students meeting the proficiency benchmarks in Reading and Mathematics from 2011-12 to 2014-15.
Data Source: Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for WSAS data, and ACT, Inc., for ACT data. Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS), which includes the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Exam and the Wisconsin Alternative Assessment for Students with Disabilities, for Grades 3-8. Beginning with the graduates of 2015, the ACT has been given to all students in Grade 11. Prior to that, students self-selected into the test.

Peer Comparison Data
WKCE, ACT, Advanced Placement Results, and the Graduation Rates provide information to school districts and families regarding the academic progress of their students.
Full Definition: Graduation rates measure the number of students graduating in four, five, and six years. Advanced Placement exams are measured on a scale from 1 to 5, with a score of 3 considered passing. (See Key Indicators for WKCE and ACT information.)
Data Source: Department of Public Instruction (DPI) for Graduation Rates and WKCE data. ACT, Inc., for ACT data, and the College Board for AP data.
Peer Comparison Group: The largest 10 districts in the State of Wisconsin, and the 11 Wisconsin districts with UW 4-year campuses.

ELA Program Review
English Language Arts (ELA) programming supports instruction for all students in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
Full Definition: The ELA program is reviewed after several years of implementation. The goal of a review is to determine best practices in ELA programming and instruction and to align programming between levels.
