Gifted and Talented Programming

Welcome & Short History
Welcome to the Eau Claire Area Gifted Education web page. Our district has served the needs of its able learners for many years. Beginning in 1979, we began with pullout enrichment and have now evolved into providing identification and programming to support students at the next academic levels, including social and emotional supports with direct connections to district curriculum at academic ability levels of each high ability student.

We work with parents, students, teachers, administration and at the district level to provide consistence services across the district at all schools and for all gifted and talented students.

Definition of Gifted and Talented Student
According to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Standard (t) for gifted education, the definition of a Gifted and Talented Student is: "students enrolled in public schools who give evidence of high performance cabability in intellectual, creative, artisitic, leadership, or specific academic areas and who need services or activities not ordinarily provided in a regular school program in order to fully develop such capabilities."
