Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program

Dual language is a form of bilingual education in which students are taught literacy and content in two languages. Dual language programs foster bilingualism, biliteracy, enhanced awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, and high levels of academic achievement through instruction in two languages.

The Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program at Longfellow Elementary is available to students entering Kindergarten in the 2019-20 school year.  A total of 24 students will be accepted.

April 10th, 2019 Informational letter mailed to families
April 15th, 2019 8:00 a.m. Lottery Begins
May 3rd, 2019 4:00 p.m. Lottery Ends
May 8th, 2019 4:00 p.m. Lottery Drawing (Stream online or watch in person at Longfellow Elementary)
May 10th, 2019 Letters will go out to all families
May 31st, 2019 Commitment letters for selected students due back to the District Office

Lottery Results

Thank you to everyone who submitted their child's name for consideration. The Lottery was held on Wednesday, May 8th at 4:00 PM at Longfellow Elementary (512 Balcom Street).
